Mumbai based electronic performer with a penchant for retrospection. Marbman aka Aalhad Joshi picked up electronic music production in late 2016 after a long stint of pure rhythm based instrumentation and performance. The wide, inclusive, liberated and celebratory sound of electronic music (particularly house music), along with the associated visuals and aesthetics of this general universe pushed him into moving away from one instrument and towards the exploration of a wider range of sounds and flavours. Artists like Larry Heard, Glenn Astro, Baltra, Ross from Friends, X-coast, Yaeji, Coastdream, Travis Scott and Subjoi heavily influence the Marbman sound. With one prior signed release on Nrtya Records (Track name - Lata) and a grouping of singles & EPs on his personal SoundCloud page, Marbman aims to bring a sense of both looking back into a vague, distant and joyful past while at the same time making you look forward to a complex and rich future through the sounds of house, afro, acid and jazz.

Two years in the making, Loom EP is Marbman’s attempt at a more poppy yet hazy sound. This EP works at delivering an easy listening session that can function as both 'work/study music' but also works just as well as a pensive and nostalgic set of sounds, equal parts happy and melancholic.

The offerings of this EP cover the fundamentals of the modern house sound (909s, triangle wave subs, 303s, ethereal and pads and synths and esoteric vocal hooks). The difference from the standard fare here is the application of a rhythmic sense that comes from an ear trained more to hear the 'desi-ness’ in sounds and 8-bar loops thus rendering itself SPICY HOUSE.
